Stories without endings

Some stories find their eternity in their incompleteness 

The moral of such stories hides often behind their abruptness 

Happily-ever-after endings were never meant to be theirs 

Befitting closures present themselves by remaining scarce 

You invest a lifetime chasing these stories 

Only to realise the one who got spent was you. 

I feel like I am living one such fabled story 

And lost while chasing what lies at the end of it - glory!
